Fun Summer Experience for Kids to Learn Banking with Maybank Philippines’ Yippie Bankers Summer Camp 2015!

The program is a first of its kind for a foreign bank in the Philippines. It has been done annually since 2013. The number of participating kids and branches have increased since the program was established and is anticipated to further grow in the coming years.

What better way for children to find out how a bank works and learn the value of savings than to be a junior officer in Maybank, one of the largest banks in Southeast Asia!

Maybank Philippines, Inc. (MPI) "hired" 133 kids all over the country to be part of the Bank's Yippie Bankers Summer Camp 2015, which ran from April 13 to 16, 2015.

The Yippie Bankers Summer Camp 2015 is a four-day engagement specially designed for kids ages 7-12 years old to give them a first-hand experience in banking. Yippie Bankers will shadow the activities done by the bank personnel assigned to them during the day. In the four-day event, each kid will get to be a branch manager, service head, a branch teller, new accounts officer and a meeter-greeter.

This activity allows MPI to engage the communities it serves and at the same time impart its mission of humanising financial services as Maybankers share their knowledge and skills to the next generation of leaders in a fun way.

At the end of the workshop, a graduation is held in each participating branch nationwide. This year, there were 18 participating Maybank branches: the Main Office Branch; McKinley Hill branch; Sucat branch; Tomas Morato branch; Valenzuela branch; Lipa branch; Davao Business Center; Cebu Business Center; San Fernando branch; CDO Business Center; Vigan branch; Dagupan branch; Marikina branch; Katipunan Ave. Branch; Dasmariñas branch; Greenhills branch; and Ayala-Alabang branch.
