Maybank Go Ahead. Challenge Philippine representatives named

The Maybank GO Ahead. Challenge recently took Manila by storm with more than 700 candidates registering for a spot in the national level competition held last July 10, 2013 at F1 Hotel. Six student finalists from top Philippine universities emerged as winners of the Philippine National Qualifiers Round and will be sent to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to compete in the Maybank Go Ahead. Challenge Grand Finale.

The Maybank Go Ahead. Challenge is an international business case competition that provides opportunities and recognizes young and aspiring talents to showcase their skills on an international platform. The Philippine candidates went through rigid screening process and shortlisted to 27 of the brightest minds from top colleges and universities. The 27 qualifiers were then immersed in challenges that required skills in problem solving and mathematics as well as abilities in reasoning and logical thinking, a prelude to what the final Challenge entailed.

Maybank Philippines President and CEO Herminio M. Famatigan Jr. welcomed the participants and engaged them by sharing about Maybank's culture and Employer Value Proposition (EVP). He also talked about qualities that will help the students succeed in the real world, with emphasis on being industrious and enterprising.

The 6 student finalists are Wesly Paul Cortez, Corrine Francesca Reyes and Janina Imperial from the University of the Philippines Diliman; Jennifer Conlu and Nicholas Agustin Cancio from the Ateneo de Manila University; and Jin Nathaniel Ong from De La Salle University. As representatives of the Philippines, they will be joining finalists from Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong and United Kingdom who will also be competing in the Maybank Go Ahead. Challenge Grand Finale from August 26-30, 2013 at Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
