Maybank Philippines is 2014 BSP Pagtugon Award nominee

Maybank Philippines, Inc. along with other two other banks were nominated in the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' 2014 Pagtugon Award for Universal and Commercial Banks.

The award is given to the bank, which has the least number of customer complaints with the BSP and those that promptly respond to referrals of consumer issues by the BSP's Financial Consumer Affairs Group. The award was created in line with the BSP's advocacy of consumer protection.

The Pagtugon award creates a greater sense of awareness and responsibility for banks in ensuring responsiveness and greater efficiency in serving and protecting the interests of their clients and general public as well as in adhering to the best practices in customer service.

"I am pleased to learn of this noteworthy and important nomination as it validates the high level of service culture that we all have been earnestly building over the years," said MPI President and CEO Herminio M. Famatigan, Jr.

"It is an affirmation and at the same time an encouragement for us to even do better. The Maybank brand of service, as you know, is one critical differentiating element that we have chosen and this is as good a time as any to re - commit ourselves to that objective. Thank you all," he further said.

Other nominees were Asia United Bank (AUB) and United Coconut Planters Bank. AUB bagged the award.
