Even the rainy weather did not dampen everyone's spirit as Maybank opened its 78th branch in the Philippines -- and 2nd CDO branch -- in Lapasan district, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental last Friday, 17 January 2014. Maybank CDO-Lapasan is the first branch to be opened for 2014 and marks MPI's expansion of more than 20 branches for the year.

Cutting the ceremonial ribbon was Cagayan de Oro Councilor Candy Darimbang, assisted by CDO-Lapasan branch head Agnes T. Abarrientos, Community Distribution Head Joel T. Carranto, Region IV Head Susan D. Catindig and Business Enablement Head Jen L. Paggabao.

The inauguration of the branch started with a mass, followed by the blessing and coin throwing ceremony. Joel Carranto acknowledged the presence of CDO Councilor Candy Darimbang and introduced the branch team. "Though the weather is not cooperating, today is a blessing," Carranto said referring to the rainy weather in CDO that morning. He also emphasized the strength and stability of Maybank, and the intention to differentiate the bank through its service to the CDO community. He then thanked the audience who attended the inauguration.

Maybank CDO-Lapasan branch is headed by Agnes Abarrientos, Branch Head; Irene May Tongco, Service Head; Steena Fuentes, Sales Associate; Flora Mae Lacaya, Service Associate; and assisted by Marjorie Mangubat, Relief Officer and Mario Pamplona, Quality Assurance Officer.
