How to use QR Pay

The QR Pay feature lets you transfer funds and receive funds in an easier and more secure manner. Discover QR Pay with a one-time registration.

Here's how to register for QR Pay.
  1. After logging in, select "QR Pay" at the bottom menu
  2. Click "Let's Begin".
  3. Enter your Maybank2u PH app password.
  4. Select your default account. This will be the account where your funds will come from as well as where you'll receive funds transferred to you via your generated QR Code.
  5. Set your Transaction and Daily Limit. The maximum transaction limit is PHP 1000.
  6. Once limits are finalized, click "Proceed & Request OTP."
  7. A page showing the definitions of Transaction and Daily Limit will be shown. Please take not of the important definitions.
  8. Input the one-time-password (OTP) which will be set to your registered mobile number.
  9. A page will be shown confirming the completion of your registration to QR Pay
Your Transaction Limit controls how much funds you can transfer without requiring authentication. Your Daily Limit offers flexibility in how much funds you want to transfer using the QR Pay feature in a given day.

Here's how to change your limits.
  1. Select the menu or the three bars at the upper left-hand side of the screen after logging-in.
  2. Select "Me" in the menu.
  3. Select "QR Pay."
  4. Select "Payment Limit."
  5. Change your Transaction and Daily Limit. Please note that the Daily Limit can only be changed once per day.
  6. Input the one-time-password (OTP) which will be set to your registered mobile number.
  7. A page will be shown confirming your new Transaction and Daily Limits.
Your Default Account is the account where you will be receiving funds and where your funds will be transferred from when you use QR Pay.

Here's how to change your default account.
  1. Select the menu or the three bars at the upper left-hand side of the screen after logging-in.
  2. Select "Me" in the menu.
  3. Select "QR Pay."
  4. Select "Default Account."
  5. Select the account you wish to make your Default Account. Please note that the accounts that can be used for QR Pay are Savings Accounts and Checking Accounts.
  6. A confirmation of the change will be shown on the bottom of the screen
You can also change your default account by clicking "Change" or "Change Account" on the QR Code Generation page and the Confirmation Payment page.
You can generate a QR Code to easily and securely receive funds.

Here's how you can generate your QR Code.
  1. Select "QR Pay" at the bottom menu, before or once you've logged in.
  2. Select "Generate QR" on the upper right-hand side
  3. Your QR Code has been generated. Please be reminded that the QR Code generated will only be for the Default Account you've selected. You can change your default account by clicking "Change Account" on the right-hand side of the QR Code.
  4. To create a QR Code that will only receive a specific amount, select "Enter Amount" in the bottom.
  5. Input your desired amount and click "Ok."
  6. Your QR Code with a specific amount has been generated.
With QR Pay, you can scan QR codes to easily and securely transfer funds.

Here's how you can scan a QR code.
  1. Select "QR Pay" at the bottom menu, before or once you've logged in.
  2. Using the camera, kindly scan the QR code, by making sure the code is in the clear box.
  3. Once the code is scanned, input the desired amount to be transferred
  4. A confirmation screen with the desired amount will be shown. Click "Pay..." to transfer.
  5. A confirmation of transfer will be shown.
QR Pay also lets you upload QR codes that you’ve saved in your gallery. Save important or usual accounts as QR codes for easier access.

Here's how you can upload a QR code.
  1. Select "QR Pay" at the bottom menu, before or once you've logged in.
  2. Select "Upload QR" on the middle.
  3. This will open your device's photo gallery.
  4. Select the saved QR code.
  5. Input the desired amount to be transferred
  6. A confirmation screen with the desired amount will be shown. Click "Pay..." to transfer.
  7. A confirmation of transfer will be shown.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Maybank QR Pay?

With Maybank QR Pay, you will be introduced to a person-to-person fund transfer wherein the transaction is initiated by scanning a QR code. You may now instantly request, receive and/or send funds from you Maybank account to another Maybank account or other participating institutions that has a QRPh functionality. (Payments to merchant and billers available soon).

What are the Maybank QR Pay features?

  • Transfer funds within Maybank and to other QRPh participating institution;
  • Set your QR Pay transaction and daily limits;
  • Scan and/or upload other QRPh participating QR Code;
  • Generate a Static QR with an option to indicate the amount;
  • Send QR code using share apps available on your mobile device. (eg. Viber, Whatsapp, Email, etc.)

Is QRPh available to all Banks in the Philippines?

No. This is available only to Banks who participated with Bancnet’s P2P solution.

Can I use this to pay bills and scan QR code of Merchants to purchase items?

No. This feature is only available for fund transfers.

Is QR Pay available through Maybank Online Banking?

No, QR Pay is only available through the Maybank2u PH app.

What are the fees for transactions via QR Pay?

Interbank funds transfer fee of PHP 10 per transaction will apply. Maybank to Maybank transfers are free.

Is QR Pay available to all Maybank2u (M2U) users?

This service is available to all active individual and sole proprietor M2u mobile users. The service is only available for those with the following accounts:

  • Active Maybank Peso Individual Savings Account;
  • Active Maybank Peso Current/Checking Account

What is a Daily limit and what is a Transaction Limit?

  • Daily Limit is the aggregate amount limit set for QR Transactions per day
  • Transaction Limit is the set amount limit per day for QR transactions which will not require you to enter a password for authentication. Note that the transaction limit is cumulative. If maximum cumulative limit is reached, on the next transaction your password will be required for each transaction.

How much can I set for a Transaction Limit and Daily Limit?

The maximum amount allowed for the Transaction Limit is Php1,000.00 meaning a value from “0” to “1,000.” For the Daily Limit, the maximum amount allowed is up to Php50,000.00 meaning a value from “0” to “50,000.”

When will the app prompt me to authenticate the transaction with my password?

You will be prompted to authenticate a transaction once you reach the maximum cumulative Transaction Limit you set per day.

What if I want all my transactions to be authenticated with my password?

You can choose ‘’0” on your transaction limit setting. By doing so, all your transactions regardless of amount will require authentication with your password.

Can I still transfer funds if I reached the maximum Transaction Limit per day?

Yes. You can transfer funds as long as it will not exceed your Daily Limit. However, you will need to authenticate transactions with your password once you exceed your Transaction Limit.

Can I still transfer funds if I reached the maximum Daily limit?

No. However, you can perform your fund transfer transaction the next day. Or if you need to do another transaction on the same day you reached your maximum daily limit, you can either:

  • Transfer your funds thru traditional interbank funds transfer
  • Change your source account

What should I do if I encountered an issue with the transfer via QR Pay?

You received an SMS notification stating: “Unsuccessful transaction”, and the account is not debited.

• Check if the recipient Bank is online.

• Check if the recipient account is active or has not issue.

• If the recipient bank is online and the account is active, try another transaction.

Real time

The mobile app displayed an error during the transaction. However, your account is debited.

• Check if the recipient account received the fund.

• Check your account if system automatically reversed the transaction.

• If the recipient did not receive the fund nor the system reversed the transaction outright. Kindly wait within 1 to 4 days for us to reverse the transaction.

The transaction is successful the but the recipient did not receive the fund

• Check the transaction details if the fund was transferred to the intended recipient.

• If correct, kindly contact our customer care and provide the details of the transaction for us to check and perform reversal if necessary.

What should I do if my QR Code cannot be read by a QR PH member mobile banking application?

  • Check if the recipient scanning your QR is using a QRPH participant.
  • Generate another QR code.
  • Close and open the app, then try to scan the QR Code again.
  • Inform the recipient to check their QR code.
